D.F.C. (Det Ferøsche Compagnie) Is a performance group from the Faroe Islands. I have been helping out with set design. “Operation Valentine” was the name of the british invasion of the Faroe Islands during the second world war. This was a devised piece - a montage of these historical happenings based on research and talks we made throughout one year. The approach is always minimalistic with only a few elements being used in various ways in the set. For Operation Valentine it was a tarpaulin and wool which were the key elements. The wool created images of islands, sheep, clouds, hay, smoke from attacks to name a few.
